Breakwater Failure

The Marina Perimeter Breakwater has Failed

Wind & Ice conditions have caused the Breakwater protecting the Marina to fail. Wind and Ice freeze thaw conditions over the Winter and Spring Have caused some of the anchor cables to come unattached and have also caused some of the breakwater anchor weights to be pulled closer to shore into shallower water.

This failure is forcing the closure of the Marina and Boat Launch until further notice.

The Village of Granisle has been Notified and is working to assess the damage and determine what actions are required to Repair.

Sockeye Salmon Season

Hey everybody Sockeye Salmon season is just a few days away. The numbers are looking good with over 900,000 fish at Skeena Tyee Test Fishery and 15,000 counted into the Lake at the Babine Fish Counting Wier. The Sockeye are arriving a little slower than pervious years due to higher water levels and cooler water temperatures. This is a good thing for the Salmon as they arrive in better condition.

Here is hoping they announce the limit to increase from 1 a day to 2 or 4 soon.

Security Gate

The Marina Security Gate has been repaired.

Please be careful when opening gate. The handle should be pushed down. Not forced up.

Thanks to all for your Patience.
